Lake Lansing, the largest lake in the Greater Lansing area is located in Haslett. It is approximately 500 acres in size and features two public parks which provide
access to beaches, fishing and a boat launch. The Michigan State University Sailing Club and the Lansing Sailing Club are located on the lake.
Approximately 90% of Haslett High School graduates go on to college, with the most popular choices being Michigan State University, the University of Michigan and Lansing Community College. Its students’ standardized test scores are above state and national averages. The Haslett Choir program is nationally acclaimed. Haslett student enrollment is nearly 3,000, average ACT Scores: 23.
Haslett was named the “42nd best place to raise your kids in America” by Business Week in 2007. It was rated based on five factors: math and reading for test scores, cost of living, recreational and cultural activities, number of schools and risk of crime.
Haslett is an unincorporated community in Ingham County. Meridian Charter Township is the local governing unit. Downtown Haslett is located near the intersection of Haslett Road and Marsh Road, a few miles northeast of the main campus of Michigan State University.
