Odessa is steeped in history dating back to 1878 when it was founded. It was named “Odessa” by the president of the Chicago & Alton Railroad, after the city of Odessa Ukraine which he had visited. Odessa is dedicated to preserving its history, in addition to maintaining a small town safety and style of living while moving forward in areas of new business and growth. With the new upper elementary school opened in 2009, we offer the best in education and extracurricular activities from band, football, basketball, volleyball, and track, along with baseball, softball and tennis, all of which have new facilities in 2009.
