Located in Southwest Missouri with a metro population over 400,000, Springfield is the third largest city in Missouri and the largest city in southwest Missouri.

With two major hospitals and three universities Springfield is the regional destination for Health Care, Higher Education and Shopping.

Springfield Public Schools is Missouri’s largest fully accredited school district with an enrollment of over 26,000 students at 69 schools.

The climate of Springfield is temperate with four distinct seasons. Many relocate to Springfield for its Majestic, Natural setting on the Springfield Plateau of the Ozarks. The Springfield-Greene County Parks and Recreation Board manages 32+ parks and facilities including golf courses, a skate park, and Ozarks Greenway trails. Within the city Springfield also has The Springfield Conservation Nature Center. Open year-round, The Nature Center offers a variety of exhibits, programs, events, and six different walking trails.

Springfield is recognized as the birthplace of Route 66 where officials first proposed the name of the new Chicago to Los Angeles highway in 1926. You can still drive the historic route through the center of Springfield.
