The City of Macon, Georgia has five colleges to select from which consists of four colleges and a technical college.

Wesleyan College
Wesleyan College started in 1836, and is the world's first college chartered to grant degrees to women. At present, Wesleyan is known as one of the nation's premium colleges and remains devoted to the education of women. Wesleyan is a four-year, Methodist-related, liberal arts college.

Macon State College
Macon State College is a four-year institution with a focus on professionally oriented degree programs. This college is known for its strength in information technology, its continued focus on a strong base for its students in the arts & sciences and its success in connecting with the region through partnerships with area businesses. Macon State offers Bachelor of Science degrees in business, communications, health information management, health services administration, information technology and applied science.

Mercer University
Mercer University is a church-related institution of higher learning that seeks to attain distinction and scholarly discipline in the fields of liberal learning and professional knowledge. Georgia College & State University
Georgia College & State University is Georgia's public liberal arts university. More than 80 degree programs, at undergraduate and graduate levels, are offered by a faculty dedicated to fostering excellence in the classroom and beyond.

Central Georgia Technical College
Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC)is an affiliate of the state system of technical institutes and an institution of higher education. CGTC provides comprehensive academic and technical education, customized business and industry training, and continuing education services that are receptive to the needs of society, businesses, and industries within its area.
