About Montgomery, AL

Montgomery’s River Region is home to many communities including Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, Pike Road, Wetumpka and Tallassee and has grown to a population over 340,000 that call it home. We have a mild climate with average winter temperatures at 50 degrees and summer temperatures at 84 degrees. Located in central Alabama via Interstates 65 and 85, Montgomery is within easy reach of Atlanta, Mobile, Birmingham and the Gulf of Mexico.

Established in the early 1800s on the Alabama River, Montgomery has been a growing landscape for many years. It continues to grow with the addition of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Company and Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base as well as the state government being major employers. The cultural climate in Montgomery is vast. From the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, The Montgomery Museum of Art, the Symphony, the Birthplace of the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement and the Downtown Riverfront Development, it has become a destination. Alabama’s Capital City has a new four-star hotel, The Renaissance, convention center and a 1,800 seat performing arts center plus the spectacular Riverwalk and Amphitheater. The new Alleyway district boasts new restaurants and entertainment venues and retail shops planned. All of this shared by both the public and private sector makes it a sure win-win for the community. We also have a AA Baseball team, The Biscuits, in a state of the art stadium that has become a popular treat for families.

Neighborhoods vary from the Garden District and Old Cloverdale charm to planned neighborhoods with golf courses, clubhouses, walking trails and to the new trend of Traditional Neighborhood Developments such as The Waters and Hampstead where residents can live, work and play within walking distance. New public schools are in the works as well as a variety of private schools to choose from. YMCA’s are abundant.

The River Region residents enjoy a variety of benefits from living within a short distance from major cities or just stay right here to float down the Coosa River or see free concerts on the Riverfront. Don’t miss the opportunity to join this southern city with all its charm and diversity.
