Also, the nearby community of Sylva is home to the Southwestern Community College, which has been recently ranked as one of North Carolina’s “Exceptional” community colleges, and as the 4th best community college in the nation by Washington Monthly. Aquone is serviced by Macon County Schools out of nearby Franklin, with six elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
