Welcome to the Mountains of Western North Carolina

Western North Carolina includes some of the highest peaks east of the Rocky Mountains and features many of the most scenic drives in the country, including a portion of the 250 mile Blue Ridge parkway. Beyond its lovely scenery, the natural setting provides endless opportunity for outdoor recreation from hiking to mountain biking to whitewater rafting to fly-fishing.

The Greater Asheville area is comprised of a Metropolitan Service Area (MSA) in excess of 400,000 people. This MSA represents a steady and comfortable growth over the past 20 years. This area has many fine restaurants, unique shopping and varied recreational and cultural opportunities. Our top-tired hospitals, rehabilitation centers and home health care centers provide high quality compassionate care in a verity of services. The climate here is superb and the way of life is relaxed and unhurried.

Among those drawn here was George Washington Vanderbilt. He built the Biltmore Estate which was modeled after a 16th century French Renaissance chateaux and has 250 rooms. Today, Biltmore remains the largest home in the United States.
