Imagine living in a beautiful, friendly city located within a ninety minute drive to the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, a four –hour drive to the majestic Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains, or a five and one-half hour or less drive to major cities like Washington, DC, Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. Goldsboro, North Carolina is such a city.

Goldsboro is proud to be the home of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and some of the greatest military personnel in the world. Our active and retired military along with some Yankee transplants are only part of the unique and diverse population that benefit Goldsboro and make it a great place to call home.

The housing market in Goldsboro has fared well in 2008-2009 as compared to national statistics. Reasonably priced homes, both historic and modern, are available for sale or for rent.

Opportunities for cultural activities abound in Goldsboro and Wayne County, many under that auspices of the Community Arts Council. The historic Paramount Theater, which was magnificently rebuilt after burning to the ground several years ago, provides a venue for local theater, community concerts, plays, and stage-struck, an excellent children’s theater. The Downtown Goldsboro Development Council provides seasonal celebrations and activates such as the North Carolina Symphony, the Broadway South series of plays, the Ballet and concerts by top national artists are accessible in less than an hour’s drive to Raleigh or Greenville.

Wayne County is also home to two colleges and within a 45 to 90 minute drive of such highly ranked colleges as Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, NC State University, and East Carolina University.

This historic southern city offers comprehensive medical services through Wayne Memorial Hospital and easy accessibility to such World Class Hospitals as Duke, Wake Memorial, and Chapel Hill.
