Charlotte, NC - a destination for people of all ages

Nestled between two lakes on the Catawba River in the beautiful Piedmont region of North Carolina, Charlotte has become a destination for people of all ages. In less than two hours you can be winding down the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Smoky Mountains or hiking the Appalachian Trail in quaint Blowing Rock, and in three hours you can be in historic Charleston, SC frolicking in the surf and building sand castles.

Our temperate climate year round, outdoor activities, and extensive parks and nature trails have made Charlotte a draw for many newcomers. Sports enthusiasts have hit the jackpot in Charlotte. We have a NFL team, the Carolina Panthers, NBA basketball, the Charlotte Bobcats, and Minor League baseball and hockey. NASCAR fans will already know that Charlotte is the hub of racecar enthusiasts. Soon to be home to auto-racing’s biggest tribute, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the Charlotte area is proud to host the NASCAR Sprint All Star Challenge, the Coca-Cola 600, and the Bank of America 500.

Charlotte, North Carolina was chosen as the site for the U.S. National Whitewater Center, home to the world’s largest manmade whitewater river, which serves as training grounds for Olympic athletes, as well as a busy recreation center for the public. This 307 acre sports facility includes whitewater rafting and kayaking, mountain biking and hiking trails, a ropes course and climbing wall.

Education is always a concern for relocating families. Over the past ten years, many national experts have singled out Charlotte’s school system as one of the best in the country. We also have many award winning private and parochial schools to choose from.

Charlotte is as diverse as our neighborhoods. From trendy uptown high rise living, to urban setting where a cup of coffee is a short walk away, to beautiful suburban neighborhoods with a mile long list of amenities, Charlotte has it all. Shopping, sports, restaurants, excellent schools and blue skies, what could be finer than to be in Carolina!
