Welcome to Fort Bragg

Fort Bragg is a major Army military installation. It is the headquarters of the 82nd Airborne Division, XVIII Airborne Corps, home of America’s “Guard of Honor” and U.S. Army Special Operations Command Headquarters. It will also house the US Army Forces Command “FORSCOM” and the headquarters of the U.S. Army Reserve Command “USARC”. Both are relocating from their current home in Fort McPherson, Georgia and will bring 3,000 senior Army decision makers to Fort Bragg by mid 2011. BRAC will bring 16,600 new jobs to the region, including military, civilian and contractors.

There are 11 surrounding counties that will have to prepare to make changes to accommodate the growth. The community leaders are working together to accommodate the changes and impact of BRAC, such as schools, roads, airports, utilities, etc. The population growth is expected to grow to 1.04 million by 2013.

The average price range for existing homes in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg area is $154,000. Multiple listing statistics show it being a seller’s market for properties under $175,000 and a buyer’s market above $175,000.

Fort Bragg is similar to a city because it has its own mall, schools, hospitals, homes, utility works and entertainment facilities. It is located just 12 miles from Fayetteville and has recently been annexed into the city. It is a vital part of our community.
