Living in Milford, NHMilford is a southern NH town that is bustling with community pride and spirit. Located along the Souhegan River between Amherst and Wilton, this town of approximately 15,000 residents was recipient of the 2002 Great American Main Street Award and was voted New Hampshire Magazine’s 2005 “Best Downtown in NH”. This bustling area is home to many activities including the Great Pumpkin Festival, Farmer’s Market, Jingle on Downtown, and Keyes Art Show & Blooming Sidewalks Celebration.
This town has many recreational areas including Keyes Park with its tennis courts, skate park, community pool, playground, and ball fields; the Hampshire Dome; and the newly completed ¼ mile track and field facility at Milford High School. Milford is also home to Hampshire Hills, a premier sports and fitness facility which includes indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, fitness and training, restaurant and the Hampshire Dome, the best indoor sports complex in New England.
Milford’s schools, which include Jacques Memorial (R-1), Heron Pond Elementary (2-5), Milford Middle School (6-8), and Milford High School and Applied Technology Center (9-12) are highly rated and enjoy the enthusiastic support of a dedicated PTO.
The town is a nice mix of industry and agriculture. Major employers include Hitchiner Manufacturing Corp., Hendrix Wire and Cable, Airmar Technology Corp., and Alene Candles. Milford is also home to several family-run working farms and orchards.
Milford is conveniently located along major commuting routes, including Route 101A for commuting to Nashua and Lowell MA, Route 101 for commuting to Manchester or the Peterborough area, and Route 13 for commuting to Townsend, MA.
