As you drive into the village of Newfields, you are charmed by the well-maintained New England homes dating largely from 1685 to the late 1800’s. Newfields, NH is a town with a true center comprised of the Town Hall, the library, a post office, the school, a fire station, the community church and a charming general store, all within walking distance. There are war memorials on the town common remembering those who served from Newfields.

Approximately 1700 residents live in a broad range of home styles. While the village has the feel of old New England, further out you will find modern, upscale developments with homes ranging from the upper $300’s to around $900,000 in value. There are more modest homes and a few large farms remaining within the town borders. The central location of Newfields, NH makes it ideal for commuting to Manchester, Boston, UNH, Pease Trade Port and elsewhere with easy access to Routes 101, 125 and I-95. The convenient location, the small elementary school and the quite charm are part of the reason Newfield’s home values have been less affected than many by the economic downturn in recent years.

As part of the Exeter School District, Newfields has its own elementary school for grades K – 5 with approximately 170 students. From there the children attend the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham and Exeter High School. There are several reputable private schools nearby including Phillips Exeter Academy. Volunteer residents manage an athletic league for children up to 5th grade.

The natural features and the railroad shaped the town’s rural and industrial history, and now its modern recreational offerings. Located on the tidal Swampscott River, there is a town boat access and a handful of moorings that are available to residents. The town forest is the gateway to several trails for hiking, Nordic skiing, biking and snowmobiles.
