Nether Providence Township

Delaware County is situated in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania neighboring two urban areas, Philadelphia, PA and Wilmington, DE. Nether Providence Township is located in Delaware County.

Nether Providence Township was settled in 1686 and incorporated as a township in 1687. The name had its origin with some of the early immigrants and was given as an indication of their appreciation for the safe release from the obstacles they had encountered in crossing the ocean.
