Living in Roseland, NJ

Roseland, NJ lies just 20 miles west of New York City and is served by two bus companies offering daily service to Manhattan. Nearly one-half of what is now the Borough of Roseland had belonged to the Becker Dairy Farm, which operated from 1880 to 1964. Much of this beautiful property is now a well-planned executive park which added a substantial commercial base, but has not changed the Borough’s residential qualities. Roseland offers an extensive variety of recreation programs, including caring for and learning to ride ponies; acting classes; basketball, baseball hockey and soccer leagues; golf lessons; and gymnastics. In addition, the Essex County Environmental center is located within Roseland’s borders. Its school system serves grades kindergarten through sixth, while students in seventh through twelfth attend West Essex Regional Schools.
