Welcome to Teterboro, NJ

Teterboro is located in Bergen County, the farthest northeast county of New Jersey. According to the US Census in 2000, the borough’s population was 18, making it the smallest town in New Jersey by population. However, shortly after the Census collected its data, new housing units were built and occupied. These uncounted residents are estimated to triple the population enumerated by the Census. Teterboro is best known for housing Teterboro Airport, which is the oldest operating airport in the New York City area. The airport makes up most of the borough and is only 12 miles from midtown Manhattan, making it very popular for private and corporate aircraft. Public school students from Teterboro attend schools from the South Hackensack School District until 8th grade, after which they can choose one of several surrounding high schools. Teterboro is also home to the Aviation Hall of Fame of New Jersey, which honors the men and women who have made aeronautical achievements to the state.
