Welcome to North Babylon, NY

North Babylon, NY is a hamlet in the Town of Babylon and has an interesting history. Originally, North Babylon was comprised of a few farms. It then became the [lace to be for some of the most powerful millionaires in America. In 1868, August Belmont picked North Babylon to build his incredible 1,100 acre mansion which included more than 30 buildings and hundreds of acres set aside to, of course, breed horses. The estate went on to contribute to the racing world some of the greatest horses in its history.

What is now Belmont Lake State Park was then the favorite place that our 21st President, Chester A. Arthur liked to relax and fish. During World War I, the same place was home to the U.S. Army Air Corps' Camp Dam. Today, Belmont Lake State Park is a wonderful place to spend the day jogging, riding your bike or just relaxing and enjoying the tranquility of the lake.

The homes here are affordable and also offers a number of fine Over 55 communities with numerous on-site amenities and easy access to shops. The school district is quite good providing a balance of academics, sports and extra-curricular activities. In fact, the North Babylon Middle School has an award winning marching band.
