Living in Riverdale, NY

Riverdale is a sylvan enclave tucked into the northwest corner of The Bronx, in New York City, an elegant, vibrant community that combines the best of city and country living. Convenient to all the dazzling cultural attractions and business buzz that make New York a world-class city, Riverdale is a serene, charming suburban-style neighborhood that helps you feel safe and secure.

Riverdale’s richly diverse architectural styles range from classic to contemporary, stately mansions to European-style villas ensconced in the private, elegant communities of Fieldston and the Estate Section, West of the Parkway. Other parts of Riverdale feature delightful and more modest houses. There are spacious cooperative and condominium apartments, from pre-war, to luxury high rises – many of them with panoramic river views. Rentals are also available in apartment buildings and private houses.

The comparative value of size and space makes Riverdale an excellent alternative to Manhattan. Moreover, the real estate taxes are miniscule compared to the neighboring suburbs. Riverdale is bordered by Westchester County to the North, Manhattan to the South, the Hudson River and New Jersey to the West and the rest of The Bronx to the East.

Riverdale is a commuter’s dream come true. Mid-town Manhattan, New Jersey or Connecticut is less than a half hour away. Manhattan is a short hop by bus, subway, train or car, as are local attractions such as Wave Hill, the world-famous Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens, Yankee Stadium, picturesque City Island and Arthur Avenue, the Bronx’s own Little Italy.
