Blanchard, OK: A Country Suburb
Small town warmth and friendliness, along with country charm, make Blanchard an attractive place to live. The city has experienced significant commuter population growth, in recent years, leading to Blanchard being called a country suburb of Oklahoma City.
Blanchard’s location is ideal for commuters. It is located at the intersection of U. S. Highway 62 and State Highway 76 and has easy access to Interstate 44. Much of the workforce commutes to nearby Norman and Oklahoma City. Blanchard is within 15 miles of four major universities and an easy 30 minute drive to three major hospitals and Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport.
The Blanchard School System consists of and elementary school, an intermediate school, a middle school and a high school. A low pupil to staff ratio allows for close supervision of students. While the high school has a full athletic program, the Marching Band is most notable, routinely winning top honors at state competitions.
Modern housing subdivisions are found on the periphery of the city. These subdivisions tend to be low-density, typically one to 5 acre lots. New, high quality and affordable construction is available in many of these areas.
If you are looking for country living with all of the benefits of a big city, you might find Blanchard, as many others have, the right place to call home.
