The Mount Washington Valley
The Mount Washington Valley, located in the heart of the White Mountain area of New Hampshire and Western Maine, is an area that has it all. Whether it be winter or summer, there is so much to do, it is truly an outdoorsman’s paradise.
The choices in the winter are endless: downhill skiing at one of the many local ski resorts including Mt. Cranmore, Attitash and Bear Peak, Wildcat Mountain, Black Mountain, and King Pine Ski Area, cross country skiing at Jackson Ski Touring, ice climbing at Cathedral Ledge, ice skating at the Ham Arena, sleigh rides at the Farm by the River, snow shoeing, and lots of tax free shopping at the many Outlets in North Conway.
Summer activities include swimming, canoeing, and kayaking in one of our many rivers including the Swift and Saco rivers, water skiing on Conway or Silver Lake, hiking over 400 different trails in the amazing trail system, camping in the White Mountain National Forest, rock climbing, and once again, tax free shopping at Settler’s Green.
Fall brings amazing foliage, and people come to the Mt. Washington Valley from miles around to enjoy the beauty of the autumn in the mountains. The Fryeburg Fair, Maine’s oldest and largest agricultural Fair is usually the first week of October and Sherman’s Farm, on the East Conway Road, creates a fun and unique corn maize that is great for all ages.
The towns that encompass the Mt. Washington Valley are Tamworth, Freedom, Albany, Madison, Conway, North Conway, Bartlett, and Jackson in Carroll County, New Hampshire. In Oxford County, Maine, there is Fryeburg, Brownfield, Denmark, Lovell and Bridgton.
