Canton is also the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which includes a five building complex honoring the game of football and those who made it the attraction that it is today. Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium is the recently remodeled and renamed football facility. The 25,000-seat stadium is the home to Canton McKinley, Canton Timken and Glenoak high schools, Malone College and Walsh University as well as the nationally televised annual Professional Football Hall of Fame game. Every July the community, with help from over 3000 volunteers, stages Pro Football's Greatest Weekend, a tribute to the newest Hall of Fame inductees.
President McKinley resided in Canton for most of his life and is entombed in the McKinley National Memorial. Neighboring the Memorial is the McKinley Museum of Science and Industry where artifacts from the life of the twenty-fifth president are on display. Additionally, the museum is the home of Discover World an interactive hands on exhibit for children.
Canton has been restoring their downtown. To date, the Stark County Courthouse (1870) and the Saxton House (1865 - the home of Ida Saxton McKinley, wife of President William McKinley) have been renovated. The Saxton House now houses the National First Ladies Museum. Additionally, Canton has a rich legacy of support for the arts and boasts five arts organizations including The Players Guild, Canton Museum of Art, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Canton Civic Opera and Canton Ballet.
