Welcome to Orange Township, OH

Home to nature lovers and those who enjoy simpler times, Lewis Center in Orange Township is a semi-rural growing community with all of the best things in life just outside your door. If you've ever wanted to live in the country but close to the city - less than 30 minutes from downtown - look no further. You'll find acres of country living close to every modern convenience of the neighboring suburbs.

Restored historic buildings like the large Country Mercantile thrive today as places of commerce for residents and visitors to this beautifully scenic area. Rolling hills, tall trees, and abundant wildlife return residents to the natural world. Once home to many notable families, this area's history dates back to the early 1800s and includes ties to the Underground Railroad.

You'll find all the news and things to do in the Orange Township Newsletter from holiday events and parades to Orange Festival which draws a large number of township residents and folks from neighboring communities for live entertainment, kids activities, food vendors, and a whole lot more.

Residents and visitors enjoy participating in water sports at nearby Alum Creek Reservoir. There's also camping, hiking trails, picnic facilities, and 3,000 feet of beach for sunbathing. Don't forget your sunscreen.

Back in town, North Orange Park, is 40 acres of outdoor green space with a large award-winning shelter house perfect for parties and events. Relax by the pool, take the kids to the playground, or your team to the soccer fields. Need more? Shoot some hoops at the basketball court, or spend time with that special someone on the walking trails. You never know…two large ponds, a wood bridge, waterfalls, and a fountain are perfect for an outdoor wedding!

These days rural doesn't mean isolated. The international Moms Club has a local chapter right in Lewis Center. In addition homeowners associations and a local business association keep people here connected with each other and with the outside world. Many of these groups meet at the Township hall which also opens its doors to area scout troops and the Olentangy Area Seniors who meet each month to discuss town business and enjoy a pot luck or catered luncheon and some entertainment. This group also gathers once a week for pastries, coffee, and conversation and to hear a selected speaker or enjoy programs like Irish Travels. This active group also offers euchre games, exercise classes at the North Orange Aquatic Center, and a bridge group is in the works. Who brought the cards?

Now doesn't that sound like the perfect life? Real community spirit, active local groups and civic opportunities including blood drives and back to school safety programs, many area churches and of course, that all important peace and quite of away from big city hustle and bustle.
