The community of Mt. Washington, Ohio was first settled by Baptist minister John Corbly and farmer Stephen Sutton and has existed since 1790. Today, it’s a neighborhood with diverse housing options—affordable older and newer homes—predominantly Cape Cods, ranches and two-story traditionals. It’s a clean, safe and attractive neighborhood with good schools, churches, shops, a library and a Kroger store. The Water Tower is a neighborhood landmark. Recreational activities include horseback riding and golf. Residents point to the walkways, playgrounds, benches, bike racks at the 125-acre Stanbery Park. Its new $5.5 million, 30,000-square-foot recreation center has two full-size gyms, a walking track and multi-purpose rooms. Mercy Hospital- Anderson is only minutes away. The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Guardian Angels School and McNicholas High School are located here. A new Sands Montessori, PreK–6, is being built by Cincinnati Public Schools to be completed fall 2009. Mt.
