The Town of New Richmond, OH

The old river town of New Richmond, OH features many restored, historic houses and newer developments of executive homes, many with spectacular river views. It boasts an excellent school system, fine churches of diverse faiths, and counts the Ohio River its biggest asset. Marinas on the Ohio River offer sailing, fishing and power boating. Other activities especially for the youth include swimming, soccer, football and baseball. There are public golf courses nearby. Local attractions include a Fourth of July celebration, summer outdoor concert series at the gazebo, and the annual River Days community festival. A big plus is the quick access to Northern Kentucky and downtown Cincinnati, regional malls, boating, Coney Island, Riverbend Music Center and River Downs horse racing. New Richmond was once a destination for slaves escaping through the Underground Railroad. There’s a bronze marker around Haussermann Park on Front Street to commemorate the town’s role in the movement. New Richmond began in 1814.
