The Village of Newtown, OH

The quaint village of Newtown, OH began as a stockade built in the 1790s and incorporated in 1904. Newtown, Ohio features old and new houses, gaslight streets and lush parks. Lately, things are happening in the old part of the village. Roads and sidewalks are being improved to encourage more foot traffic. There are picturesque river views throughout the village, and a public golf course is located along the riverbank. It is home to Ivy Hills Country Club, with an 18-hole golf course. Luxurious homes, built as part of the Ivy Hills development, are priced from $500,000 and up. Shops, schools and major hospitals are minutes away. Iron Skillet, known for its Hungarian/ German specialties, is in Newtown, as is Main Street Café, a favorite with the locals. It is home to the nondenominational school, Miami Valley Christian Academy, preschool–12, housed in the former Newtown Elementary School.
