The community of Price Hill, Ohio was once called Bold Face Hill, after Chief Bold Face, a local Indian tribal leader. Price Hill has beautiful hilltop views and very affordable, renovated Victorian, newer brick and frame houses, modest in size and price. A new development in East Price Hill, Grand Commons Avenue, offers 20 new homes with spectacular views of downtown and Northern Kentucky. The stunning vistas have long drawn visitors, ever since trolleys carried entertainment seekers up the Price Hill Incline to an amusement complex operated by William Price, grandson of the area’s founder. There are several retail outlets and restaurants here; it is the birthplace of Skyline Chili. Queen’s Tower, a luxury high rise, is located here, and such institutions as Cincinnati Christian University (formerly Cincinnati Bible College), Elder High School and Seton High School. Plus the new Robert Paideia Academy and new Rees E. Price, both PreK–8, built by Cincinnati Public Schools. Also located here is Mt. Echo, which offers a spectacular view of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati. Price Hill is close to downtown, with excellent access to public transportation.
