Because Lorain County boasts such a wide variety of attractions and recreation, life in Rochester is never dull. For rowdy summer afternoons, nearby Oberlin is home to the Splash Zone water park, and the popular Cedar Point Amusement Park is just an hour’s drive north to Sandusky. Findley State Park, located only 5 miles east of Rochester, features over 900 acres of woodland and a 93 acre lake for camping, hiking, boating, fishing, swimming, and more. Also, Rochester residents have easy access to Lake Erie’s beautiful shoreline, which offers something for every outdoor interest, even scuba diving some of the lake’s 1000 shipwrecks!
