Living in Springboro, OH

Springboro, Ohio was once a stopover on the Underground Railroad. Visitors can explore original Quaker houses with secret rooms where slaves hid. There are 27 authenticated sites in the Underground Railroad, respites for slaves seeking freedom in Canada. Browse the quaint shops in Springboro’s Historic District. A six-block section of South Main Street has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Homes range from historic 19th-century styles to new developments; schools have a good reputation and its 15 churches represent eight different denominations. Three parks—North Park, Community Park and ClearCreek Park—provide recreational activities. Dining places include China Cottage, Brass Pig Tea Room and BW3. Springboro is home to LaComedia Dinner Theatre, which offers year-round Broadway- style entertainment and a sumptuous buffet. Springboro was founded by Quaker Jonathan Wright in 1798.
