Tuttle, Oklahoma: An Agricultural Bedroom Community

Located along the South Canadian River, Tuttle got its start as an agricultural town and was named after a local cattleman and rancher. The main products are wheat, cotton, hay (alfalfa & Bermuda) and cattle. The Braum’s Dairy farm, known for ice cream and dairy stores throughout the region, is located on the edge of town.

Today, the city is becoming a bedroom community for the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The population of approximately 6,000 residents is up 40% from the 2000 Census. Tuttle enjoys a low crime rate, a lower than average cost of living index and a clean environment, all of which make it a great place to live.

The Tuttle Public School System has and elementary school, an intermediate school, a middle school and a high school. Sports are big in that the Tigers have won numerous state championships. Two notable athletes grew up in the Tuttle School System. Jason White won the 2003 Heisman Trophy playing for the University of Oklahoma and Tyler Henson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2006. Academics do not take a back seat to athletics. The 2005 football and 2006 baseball teams were State Academic Champions.

There are three major hospitals within 15 miles of Tuttle and seven colleges and universities within 20 miles. And, the Oklahoma City Will Rogers World Airport is an easy 30 minute drive away.

Housing is affordable in and around Tuttle, making it attractive for young families. In addition to existing home sales, there is high quality new construction on large lots available.

If you are looking for a clean, relaxed and affordable environment, Tuttle is worthy of your consideration.
