Lake Oswego, Oregon - Prime Real Estate Only Miles from Portland

Recently named the top “cottage community” by Cottage Living Magazine, Lake Oswego, Oregon, sits nestled under lush forests on the banks of a lake of the same name. Located in the Northwestern tip of Clackamas County, Lake Oswego is considered one of the finest residential areas in Oregon due to its fantastic shopping and dining core as well as its superior school system. With a population of just over 35,000 and located eight miles from downtown Portland, Lake Oswego is the suburb of choice for those who work in the Portland metro area. The 2000 census found that residents of Lake Oswego made a median income that was almost twice that of Portlanders.

The oldest real estate in Lake Oswego gives a glimpse of Great Britain, boasting Tudor Revival and English Cottage homes built between 1920 and 1940 by Richard Sundeleaf. As the Portland metropolitan area has grown, new homes for sale have appeared to accommodate Lake Oswego's own growth. However, the city maintains a small town ambiance and citizens here work to preserve the feel that makes Lake Oswego special.

Despite its relatively small size, Lake Oswego provides full-service police and fire forces, a multimedia library, and an award-winning senior center. The city also features two public swimming facilities on Oswego Lake, a world-class 18-hole golf course, indoor tennis center, and outdoor amphitheater.
