The largest city in Oregon and the second largest in the Pacific Northwest, Portland rests at the junction of the Columbia and Willamette rivers between the beautiful Coast Range on the west and the spectacular Cascade Range on the east.

In 1806, Lewis and Clark discovered the land that would later become the city of Portland. The city itself was incorporated in 1851. The Portland metropolitan area, now comprising 94 neighborhoods, boasts an ethnically and socially diverse population of almost 2 million.
