About Redmond, Oregon

Resting just a few short miles from the Deschutes River and Mt. Bachelor in the western part of Oregon's High Desert, Redmond residents enjoy beautiful weather and a plethora of outdoor activities year round. Located 15 miles north of Bend and 144 miles from Portland, over 20,000 people call Redmond home.

45 years after Oregon became a state, Frank and Josephine Redmond set up a homestead on the central Oregon site that would later bear their name. The city itself was incorporated in 1910. By 1920, Redmond's population was almost 600, which didn't stop William Wilson from ringing his bell every afternoon to call the town's businessmen to lunch.

Homes for sale in the Redmond area make the most of this beautiful and rustic part of the Northwest. There is plenty of camping, fishing, skiing, hunting, and boating to be had right outside your door. Real estate in Redmond is affordable and offers even the most discerning outdoor enthusiast the very best Oregon has to offer.
