Living in Orange, CA
What do NASCAR Sprint Driver Robby Gordon, Skateboarding champion Ronnie Creager and best selling novelist Dean Koontz have in common? They have all at one point or another lived in the city of Orange, California. Several of Dean Koontz’s popular books actually take place here. As an example, the area known as Orange Hills is the setting for both
The Bad Place and
The Husband. Along with its ties to famous celebrities, the city is also well-known for being the set location for over 165 movies.
There is something for everyone in Orange, especially with its unique convergence of historic and modern living that attracts a diverse and proud cross-section of county residents.
From sprawling equestrian estates, to grand homes in gate-guarded communities; from view properties set upon quiet hilltops, to planned neighborhoods featuring single family homes and chic condos and of course, a classic old town that captures the essence of a bygone era, there is much to be desired in the town of Orange.
Funky California bungalows, Spanish Revival mansions and Victorian charm surround the famed Orange Circle - a popular walking plaza comprised of classic antique malls, vintage vendors and unique gift shops, as well as a plethora of quaint and exceptional dining. During the school year, much of the local foot traffic at the Plaza can be attributed to the student population at Chapman University. And one of the oldest operating soda fountains in the country – Watson’s Drugs & Soda Fountain is found in Old Towne.
