About Orinda, California

Located just east of Oakland through the Caldecott Tunnel along the 24, Orinda is one of three towns that makes up what is commonly referred to as “Lamorinda”; Lafayette and Moraga are the other two communities. This quiet and family friendly community claims the natural beauty of tree clad hillsides, excellent schools, a strong cultural base, and lovely neighborhoods.

Housing options in Orinda, California are vast, ranging from many beautiful custom homes nestled in the rolling hills along with a few modest condominiums tucked into attractively landscaped areas. The city council has restricted the size of homes on a half-acre lot to 4200 square feet, and all new construction must go before a design review board. The nature of the often steep or hilly terrain means that much of Orinda is beautiful, open land.

Orinda offers easy access to parks and recreational facilities. Tilden Park, one of the largest regional parks in the area, borders Orinda. Here one can find vast trails, a merry-go-round, ball fields, lake, a golf course, and botanical gardens. The annual Shakespearean festival and the Orinda Film Festival attract visitors to these nationally acclaimed events.
