Orlando - A City With World Famous Attractions

Metro Orlando is one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States, and Downtown Orlando is at its heart. Commuters from the Central Florida area provide a solid workforce for local, national and international employers.

Downtown Orlando is not all business, however; it's also a mecca for those seeking entertaining diversions and an urban lifestyle. Its attractive public spaces, such as Lake Eola Park with its Centennial Fountain and amphitheater, are the perfect setting for community events and leisurely relaxation.

For many outside of Florida, Orlando is synonymous with theme parks. Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios Florida and many more draw visitors from around the world. The growing popularity of these attractions have created unprecedented opportunities for the hospitality industry in and around Orlando, where the number of hotel rooms is estimated at more than 100,000.

Orlando has much more to offer than theme parks, as residents well know. Loch Haven Park houses an art gallery, theater, historical museum, science center and planetarium. The 55-acre Harry P. Leu Botanical Gardens spreads out around the restored Leu family home, built in 1880. Turkey Lake Park offers a lake with a swimming beach, bike paths, nature trails, campsites, a petting zoo and the progressive All-Children's Playground, designed for children of all physical abilities.

Recreational amenities in Orlando are excellent, and include manicured parks, fitness facilities, golf courses, tennis courts, and more than 80 lakes. The close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean and the forests of state parks offer an outdoor environment for every activity, from water-skiing and boating to camping. Professional spectator sports, collegiate events and amateur sports attract crowds from around the state.

Remarkable growth throughout the area in just a few decades attests to the city's achievements. The Orlando Sentinel has garnered three Pulitzer Prizes and has one of the largest circulations in the state. Orlando Regional Medical Center was ranked as one of the nation's top 100 hospitals in cardiology and cardiac care, pulmonary care and gastroenterology by U.S. News and World Report. Orlando also is home to leading private colleges and a state university, and continues to attract Fortune 500 corporations in every sector.

As for housing, the choices are plentiful. Selections include moderately priced condominiums and patio homes to executive homes and estates in luxury developments. Every Orlando address has easy access to major business and health centers, entertainment and cultural complexes and the ever-expanding, world-famous attractions.
