About Berwyn, Pennsylvania

Berwyn, located in southeastern Pennsylvania is part of the area called the Main Line. The community was founded in 1877. The village of Berwyn has been called many different names over the years but received its present name during the celebration of its centennial. At that time, one of the Welsh settlers made a proposal to name the village after the Berwyn Hills in Meionetshire, Wales.

Berwyn, Pennsylvania is mostly a residential community with single homes. Located along the main thorofare in the village (Route 30) are many shops and restaurants. Sometimes the locals refer to the area in which the village of Berwyn is located as the Devon-Berwyn area. However, Berwyn has its own post office and train station as does Devon.
