Situated in the foothills of the beautiful Pocono Mountains, the Waymart area boasts an abundance of pristine lakes, streams, and serene countryside with rolling hills and acres of lush forests. Attracting residents and visitors who love the great outdoors, Waymart offers exceptional boating and fishing opportunities, kayaking and canoeing, scenic hiking and bicycling among its three lakes—Elk Lake, Keen Lake, and Lake Lodore—as well as the Prompton Lake and State Park that is located approximately five miles northeast of town. Wintertime brings even more outdoor thrills, such as ice skating, snowmobiling, and skiing in the Poconos.

Also, the Architectural Heritage Association of Scranton offers walking tours of the city’s treasured landmarks. Kids and adults alike will love one of Scranton’s most unique attractions—the Houdini Museum Tour and Magic Show—the only museum dedicated to the world’s greatest magician.
