Peachtree City Attractions

For many people, the choice between a small town and a big city makes the decision about where to live a complicated one. While a small town offers security, quiet, and a close-knit community, a big city offers entertainment and employment opportunities that a smaller town may not. A place like Peachtree City, Georgia combines the best of both.

Peachtree City is located just 15 miles from Atlanta in Fayette County, Georgia (part of the Metropolitan Atlanta Area). Atlanta is unique amongst Southern cities, with half of its population consisting of transplanted Northerners and residents from outside the South. This gives Atlanta an eclectic, vibrant atmosphere that is rare to find outside of places like New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago. Atlanta, of course, also has franchises in each of the four major North American sports.

None of this is to say that Peachtree City doesn't have ample attractions all its own. Located on the shores of Lake Peachtree and Lake Kedron, Peachtree City has a rural splendor that residents delight in. The lakes provide entertainment from spring on through the fall, with picnicking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and other outdoor activities taking a natural prominence.

Peachtree City also has a 2,000-seat auditorium for concerts and theatrical presentations, a state-of-the-art tennis center, and an indoor swimming complex. There are no less than three golf courses to keep golfers satisfied. Peachtree City also offers numerous shopping districts, with a variety of different stores and retailers. As a whole, Peachtree City successfully combines the best of comfortable small-town living with the excitement and culture of the city.
