About Peoria, Arizona

Peoria, Arizona is located northwest of Phoenix, and is part of the greater Phoenix area. Founded in 1886 by settlers from Peoria, Illinois, this area used to be essentially agricultural, but it has developed into a modern city with workers in both commercial and service industries. Peoria, Arizona offers a wide variety of home styles; single family homes, estates placed on large areas of land, custom built homes, and ranch estates can be found here. Older areas can be found in the southern part of the city and newer communities in the northern part of the city. Residents here enjoy spending time at Lake Pleasant where they can enjoy boating, swimming, sailing, and more. Peoria continues to grow and is one of the largest cities in Arizona.
