Pooler, Georgia - The Gateway City

Pooler Georgia is conveniently located off Interstate 95, but is also quickly accessible for Interstate 16, Highway 17, and Highway 80. Locals like to call Pooler the Gateway City, because it used to be the last train stop coming into the South. If you have been to Savannah, you have most likely pasted through Pooler. Local Savannahians like to think of Pooler as just an extension of Savannah. Because Pooler is just minutes from downtown Savannah; lots of locals commute everyday.

Affordable housing and easy access make Pooler an ideal spot to enjoy the low country. Pooler was named one of the fastest growing cities in the nation two years straight. Savannahian's have figured out how prime the neighboring city to the west is and have made this neighboring city a great extension to Savannah. In addition to its prime location, Pooler has an abundance of undeveloped land which makes it great for large companies call their warehouses and factory's home.

The south is not only known as a Port City, but our location makes us a prime location for large companies to set up the shop. Large companies include Dixie Sugar, International Paper, Georgia Pacific, JCB, Gulf Stream Aero Space & many more. Savannah International Airport is just two exits north off Interstate 95 from the main Pooler exit.

Pooler is packed full of new housing developments, new restaurants, new corporate business, and of course the wonderful local mom and pop shops and restaurants. No matter if you are looking for Chinese, Japanese, American, Italian, or just good old southern cooking, Pooler has a plethora of restaurants for your enjoyment.

The housing market in Pooler has something for everyone, for the first time buyer to the “experienced” buyer. Since Pooler is located conveniently between several Interstates and Highways, Pooler is home to a lot of commuters. No matter if you are commuting into Savannah, Richmond Hill, Hinesville, or even over into the Carolina's, Pooler is minutes away from it all.

Pooler is home to one of Savannah’s most prestigious Troon golfing communities. Even if you are not looking to make a private golfing community home, but just have a long layover at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, you can taxi over to Cross Winds Golf course and play a round or two on a great public course.

Chatham County Public School System has several great schools to choose from in the area. West Chatham County also offers great private schools. Because most of Savannah wraps around Hunter Army Air Field, the Savannah is almost shaped like an incomplete triangle, Pooler offers that third leg to complete the triangle. So as you can see Pooler really does give you the feel of being in Savannah, but just on the other side of town.
