About Puyallup, Washington

Resting at the foot of majestic Mt. Rainier and 10 miles east of Tacoma, Puyallup is home to 35,000 people. The city got its unique name from a Native American tribe that lived here when it was first found by European settlers in the 1830s. The Puyallup tribe was named for their hospitable spirit. Puyallup translates to “generous people,” something that could be said about present-day residents as well.

Originally a farming community, Puyallup pays homage to its heritage with the yearly Daffodil Parade. The city is also home to the Western Washington Fair, one of the ten largest fairs in the world. Residents from all over the state come here to “do the Puyallup.” With easy access to the skiing at Mt. Rainier, first-rate antique shops, and the Main Street Farmers' Market, there is always fun to be had in Puyallup.

Homes for sale in Puyallup run the gamut from the finest in new construction to historic farm houses. There is real estate here for every taste. And with home prices far below neighboring Tacoma and nearby Seattle, Puyallup's superb quality of living is easily attainable for most families.
