Roswell Georgia Real Estate

A prime example of a city that's dedicated to preserving its past and quality of life is Roswell, Georgia. An affluent suburb of Atlanta, Roswell is packed full of historic buildings, rewarding employment opportunities, and many fine educational institutions. It's no wonder Roswell was named by CNN as one of the best places to live in the United States.

Like many towns throughout Georgia, Roswell was greatly affected by the Civil War. However, because Roswell was occupied by thousands of troops, many of its original buildings survived the war and are still standing today. In fact, stroll through Roswell's Historic District, and you'll find many beautiful examples of antebellum-era mansions, including Bulloch Hall, Holly Hill, Founders Hall, and Naylor Hall.

However, the majority of these residences have been converted to serve the town in other ways, such as event halls or tourist attractions. Not all have been altered from their original structures, though. From time to time, it's still possible to find a historic Roswell home listed for sale. More common, though, are modern homes designed with architectural touches that recall days gone by.

When browsing Roswell, Georgia real estate, you will find that many of its homes could be described as "traditional" or "ranch style." Also, many Roswell properties sit on secluded, wooded tracts of land. These two features make Roswell an ideal choice for those who want a historic country-style home, and a more relaxed way of life as well. Fortunately, thanks to Roswell's proximity to Atlanta, you can still achieve the small-town life you desire while staying connected to the attractive big-city amenities that Atlanta provides.
