The Town of Richburg is located at 34 degrees 43’3” North Latitude and 81 degrees 1’11” West Longitude. The town has an area of .8 miles and lies at an elevation of 584 feet above sea level with a year-round population of 312. It is located between Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC and affords its residents the perfect combination of simple living and convenience to shopping, meals and entertainment.

The Town of Richburg and the area surrounding it are considered to have the highest potential for future economic development in Chester County. The Chester County Economic Development Strategic Plan cites the town’s greatest strengths as location and the proximity to the I-77 megasite, our quality of life, our economic development organization, and our pro business attitude.

Richburg enjoys an exceptionally low crime rate, and Chester County provides well- equipped and staffed police. The town can boast having an EMS substation, and the Richburg Fire Department that is mostly manned by volunteers with the exception of one full-time employee.
