The Golden Corner of South Carolina

Residents who live in the “Golden Corner” of northwestern South Carolina enjoy majestic Blue Ridge mountain views, the waterfront serenity of two large area lakes, ACC sports and lifelong learning opportunities at the 1,400-acre main campus of Clemson University, and a mild four- season climate.

Two spectacular area lakes, Lake Hartwell (Anderson and Oconee counties) and Lake Keowee (Oconee and Pickens counties) offer several housing opportunities including waterfront homes and condos in both rural and urban settings. Lake Hartwell borders Georgia and South Carolina with a shoreline of 962 miles and 56,000 acres of water. Lake Keowee, surrounded by the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, has over 18,000 acres and 300 miles of shoreline.

In addition to lake activities, the three counties that compose the area, Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens, offer many hiking and biking trails, over 30 waterfalls, golf, fishing, tennis, and boating activities all within a 30 minute radius.

A variety of theaters, museums, and other cultural attractions are located in Seneca, Anderson, Clemson, and Greenville (a short 45 minute drive away). Major nearby airports include Greenville, Charlotte, and Atlanta. A convenient highway system puts you within 2 hours of Charlotte or Atlanta and within 1 hour of Greenville, SC. Hospitals and state of the art health care faculties are located throughout the region.

A vibrant, diverse economy, with an array of outdoor activities, and nearby cultural and sports events offer something for all age groups in this beautiful and unique area of South Carolina.
