In 1968, Salem, VA officially gained the status of becoming its own independent city. Located in Roanoke County, situated along side the Roanoke River and nestled between the Alleghany and Blue Ridge Mountains, the city of Salem offers breathtaking views of Virginia’s beauty in its most natural state.

Conveniently located near Interstate 81, this 14.4 mile city has seen an upwards increase in property values over the last five years. With the average cost of a home at $124,000, Salem is continuously evolving into a place many individuals are deciding to call home.
