Booming Saraland and Satsuma, Alabama

As the news hit of ThyssenKrupp Steel building its 3.7 billion square foot steel plant at the Mobile/Washington County line in Mt Vernon on Hwy 43 in North Mobile County, investors from all over the United States were making visits to the area. Hotels, Super Wal-Marts, new restaurants, new subdivisions, apartment complexes etc., have exploded in the area. Land prices surged, higher then anyone had expected. Plans to accommodate the approximately 29,000 workers for the plant have been under way since the annoucement in 2007.

Saraland recently formed its own Public School System outside of the Mobile County Public School System. Completing there first year, things are going well.

More exciting news for this area is the annoucement from Governor Riley on April 29, 2009, that Ryla Inc., a Kennesaw, Georgia-based Company providing outsourced call centers and customer contact solutions to Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and nonprofits would locate in the Hertz building on Highway 43.
