Welcome to Sarasota, Florida

The jewel of Florida’s Gulf Coast, Sarasota is a vibrant and dynamic area known for its rich history, culture and award-winning beaches. From all over the world people are attracted to the natural beauty and enjoy the laid-back sophistication of this tropical locale.

Continuing the tradition of such notable founders as John Ringling, Sarasota is filled with an ever-growing arts community- including the Ringling School of Art & Design, as well as myriad galleries and artist colonies. Opera, concerts and Broadway shows can be found around almost every corner, from the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall along the Sarasota bayfront to the Sarasota Opera House located in the heart of the city.

The vibrant downtown has experienced a renaissance over the past few years, with new buildings and redevelopment creating a bustling area of activity. Along Main Street can be found award-winning restaurants with cuisine from all over the world, Starbucks and other coffee shops/bistros, Whole Foods and a weekend Farmer’s Market.

With such a beautiful location, Sarasota offers a wealth of recreation opportunities, from polo and lawn bowling to sailing and other water sports. As the home of America’s first golf course, the number of championship golf courses- both private and public- makes a round of unforgettable golf easily accessible.

When it is time to relax, the destination for residents and visitors alike is the world-famous beaches of Sarasota and her islands. The white sands are baby powder soft and create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy quiet relaxation in a tropical oasis.
