Welcome to Seaside, Florida

Seaside is the heart of Scenic Highway 30-A, a beach community located in Northwest Florida’s Panhandle, also known as “Beaches of South Walton.” This small community is conveniently located between Destin and Panama City on the Gulf Coast. Seaside, Florida is known for its dignified architecture, pastel colored cottages, and since its superb beginning, has attracted world-wide attention and has won many distinguished architectural awards over the years. This great town was once called the “down home utopia” by Time Magazine and was used as the setting for the 1998 movie, “The Truman Show,” starring Jim Carey.

The crystal white sand beaches and beautiful blue waters of South Walton County are ranked among some of the best in the world year after year. The town’s main arena consists of an open-air market which offers a number of amusing boutiques, art galleries, a florist and an ice cream store, a post office, restaurants and entertainment in the town center square. You will find a modern Victorian town with delightful narrow streets, many are cobblestone, picket fences and homes, arranged close together to encourage walking and friendliness. Park your car and rent bicycles to explore this broadly successful and innovative town.

Those looking to relocate to the Seaside area can expect great schools, an abundance of recreational outdoor activities, excellent fishing, and water sports, from golfing to tennis, hiking, biking and swimming. Seaside, Florida is also a dream location for a romantic beachside wedding.

Many privately owned furnished cottages are available for buyers or renters along the Gulf of Mexico and restaurants in Seaside range from down to earth diners to elegant inns. The city of Seaside also offers a motor court and a bed and breakfast.

Seaside is easily accessible from Interstate 10 to highway 98 east, and then to 30-A; for those who prefer to fly there are two airports serviced by Delta, American Eagle, Continental, Northwest Airlines and Chautauqua and their subsidiaries in nearby Fort Walton Beach or Panama City Beach Florida.
