About South San Francisco, California

South San Francisco, California has a life of its own. It's located north of the San Francisco International Airport and is actually located in a small valley. The Airport provides the town with a lot of its economy because of the hotels, motels and shops that many travelers use. While a lot of the area is residential, the downtown area is devoted to industry and business. Large industrial and office complexes dot the landscape. South San Francisco's biggest industry is biotech due to it proximity to many important schools and science labs. To the far west, South San Francisco is bordered with the San Francisco Bay but most residences find themselves more likely to be in the gorgeous hills and valleys of South San Francisco.

The town puts a lot of care into its natural beauty and has several parks with fields, courts and swimming pools that many residents use. They even have their own marina which is used for housing many residents' boats. Housing is available in all types from full sized homes to apartment complexes, some with a view of the water.
