Living in Sunset Beach, CA

This unincorporated area of Orange County is one of the areas smallest communities with a population of approximately 1300 people. Currently, it is entertaining annexation by Huntington Beach but wishes to maintain the laid-back, bohemian community it is. The locals visit the quaint post office (the center of social life), where current events are posted. The greenbelt that runs through the city was the right of way for the Pacific Electric Red Car. The electric car brought tourists to town from Los Angeles in the days of rum runners and casino gambling boats off shore. Sadly, the Red Car is no more. It’s most historical treasure is an old water tower that has been converted to a private residence; elevator and all.
