Manchester, TN – “Home of the World Famous Bonnaroo”

Every year, for four days in June, the small town of Manchester, TN welcomes up to 10 visitors for every one of the city’s residents as the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival returns to it’s 700 acre home at Great Stage Park. Since 2002, Bonnaroo has played host to the biggest names in every genre of music and over 700,000 music fans from all over the globe have camped out in Middle Tennessee to hear them play. In addition to it’s vast musical smorgasbord, Bonnaroo has featured dozens of headlining stand up comics in it’s Comedy Tent, features other visual and performing arts on its various stages and provides a valuable opportunity to artists, artisans and vendors from every walk of life. Bonnaroo has been a bonanza for the businesses and residents that call Manchester home. In 2005 alone, the economic impact of the event on Coffee County was more than $14 million in business revenues and more than $4 million in personal income.

The rest of the year, Manchester’s population dips to around 8,300. Manchester is the Seat of Coffee County, home to the County Courthouse and various other county offices. Located a few miles off of I-24, Manchester lies about half way between Nashville and Chattanooga, TN and is part of the Tullahoma Micropolitan Area, benefiting from its thriving aerospace industry. Combining high tech opportunities, small town Southern hospitality and the annual return of one of America’s greatest cultural events has led more people to call Manchester, TN home every day.
